Episode 17: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

In this episode, we take a look at cult film favorite, the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension! Is Buckaroo the coolest guy in the room? Can John Lithgow chew more scenery? Why is there a watermelon in there? The answers are maybe to #1, yes to #2 and nobody knows to #3.

PROGRAM NOTE: Literally two days after this episode was recorded and edited, the announcement that Kevin Smith might be turning the property into a TV show was released.  That’s the magic of the internet and progress – one will always out pace the other.  So yes, we know that this is a thing.

Episode 16: Masters of the Universe

In this episode, we take a look at Masters of the Universe, a film meant to cash in on the successful toy line and kids cartoon of the same name.  With Cannon Films rapidly running out of resources, the film suffered from a lack of plot, a waste of talent and only slightly resembled the rich source material it was derived from. It’s not completely without merit – Frank Langella and Meg Foster do justice to Skeletor and Evil-Lyn, Dolph Lundgren is a dead ringer for the actual He-Man and the cast genuinely seems to be having a good time.  That being said – this film definitely does NOT have the power.

Episode 15: Xtro

In this episode, we take a look at the 1982 horror sci-fi film, Xtro! Part family drama, part slimy monster movie, Eric and Megan discuss the reasons why Xtro has gained cult status and come up with some marketing campaigns for potential perfume lines involving black panthers and aliens.

EARLY WARNING: Mystics in Bali!

We learn all about Leyak magic, penanggalan and answer the question about how many live mice you can barf up before someone becomes concerned.
