It’s almost Halloween, so let’s look at some scary movies by Rob Zombie! In this episode, we do an old school Cinema Supercollider smash up of House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. We liked one a whole bunch and really disliked the other one. WHICH IS WHICH?
In this episode, we finish up our Ed Gein movie marathon with the 1974 drive-in horror flick, Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile! While it is the most accurate, historically speaking, to the real life of Ed Gein, it’s definitely missing some of that grotesque charm of his corpse arts and crafts or that loving mom-son relationship we’ve seen in others.
This week, we continue on the Ed Gein horror train by looking at Psycho – the original Alfred Hitchcock thriller AND the totally unnecessary shot-for-shot remake by Gus Van Sant! Dr. Ahlgren spends a bit of time analyzing ol’ Eddie and Megan floats her conspiracy theory about how It’s a Wonderful Life is actually not so wonderful.
In this episode, we take a look at the first of several films inspired by the real life of Ed Gein, the Butcher of Plainfield! This week we’re delving into the ghoulish side of Ed, highlighted in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Megan barfs forth her knowledge of serial killers and declares Franklin the most annoying character deserving of a horrible death ever.
