So the bad news is that we don’t have a new episode this week… Eric has been fighting the good fight after having some surgery last week and is still healing up, so we weren’t able to get a recording session in while he was on the mend.
The good news is that we’re going to host our very first MOVIE NIGHT this Friday night, September 26th at 8pm CST via Rabbit, and you’re invited! Rabbit allows you to share a viewing room with other people so that everyone can watch the same movie, TV show or even YouTube video together, regardless of where they are (and if they have Netflix). The screening room also has a live chat feed so we can all riff and chat along together while the movie plays in real time. It’s a leg up on the live tweet virtual screenings we used to do since you can drop in and out of the Rabbit screening room as you like or have time to do – you can also take it on the go by downloading the Rabbit app to your phone. The whole thing is free to use, so we hope you’ll join us!
Sign up today and friend our account so we can send you a link to our room on Friday night! We’re cinemasupercast on the website. See you then!
In honor of the start of football season and the passing of the late great Burt Reynolds, we take a look at the original and remake of the classic football film, The Longest Yard! The original is great for its hard hits and unvarnished humor and the Adam Sandler remake does a good job of shying away from being a typical Sandler comedy and staying true to the source material while making slight adjustments to update problematic stuff for modern audiences. In either case, you get good sportsball action and a compelling underdogs sticking it to the man story. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?
In this episode, we take a look at the 2006 Len Kabasinski werewolf action movie, Curse of the Wolf! Eric has been mildly obsessed with this film since we first viewed it for a virtual screening over a year ago and has wanted to do it for the show ever since. Megan has movie amnesia to this particular cinematic delight as she can pretty much only ever remember that a lot of kicking people happens and there’s a fat man in shit stained underwear in it. So that’s a thing.
In this episode, we take a look at the first of our Bag of Destiny picks, the 2008 Mike Myers comedy, The Love Guru! Pro: it was better than we thought it was going to be. Con: it was still really bad and our expectations were incredibly, incredibly low. DAMN YOU SCOTT
